Police charge man after stabbing - Chester Hill

A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 2 April 2019), emergency services were called to Miller Road near Gurney Road, Chester Hill, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended the scene before arresting a 45-year-old man and seizing a knife.

A 44-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his abdomen was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool hospital, where he remains in a stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Police will allege the pair became involved in an argument at a convenience store on Miller Road, before the older man retrieved a knife from a car parked nearby, and stabbed the younger man.

The 45-year-old man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 3 April 2019).
