Police charge man after Sunbury armed robberies

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man and charged him with a string of offences following armed robberies allegedly committed in Sunbury over the past month.

The 20-year-old man has been charged with a total of 32 offences following the two daytime armed robberies and other offending that took place in Sunbury between 7 and 13 May.

The Sunbury man allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim with a weapon before stealing cash, mobile phones and other personal items.

The man was arrested yesterday by specialist police in Sunbury.

He was interviewed and has been charged with two armed robberies, robbery and other related offences.

He was remanded overnight to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
