Police charge man after threat to police

Boronia police have charged a man with threats to kill after he rang a suburban police station and allegedly threatened to throw petrol bombs at police in an upcoming Melbourne CBD protest.

The calls were made during the morning of Monday, 23 August.

Police arrested the 48-year-old man at his home address in The Basin and he has been charged with threats to kill, threats to inflict serious injury and threaten to assault police officer.

He was released on bail to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates' Court on 7 February 2022.
