Police charge man after woman stabbed - Minchinbury

Investigators have charged a man over the alleged domestic-related stabbing of a woman in Sydney's west at the weekend.

About 12.30am yesterday (Sunday 15 January 2023), emergency services were called to a fast-food restaurant on the Great Western Highway at Minchinbury, following reports a woman was stabbed by a man known to her.

On arrival, officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command located a 36-year-old woman suffering injuries to her hands.

She was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, with assistance from the North West Metropolitan High Risk Domestic Violence Team, a 36-year-old man was arrested at Gladstone Street, Riverstone, about 1.30pm today (Monday 16 January 2023).

He was taken to Riverstone Police Station and charged with use carriage service to threaten to kill, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (DV).

The man was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 17 January 2023).
