Melbourne Embona Taskforce investigators have arrested a man following a sexual assault and robbery in Melbourne East this month.
It is alleged a man sexually assaulted a 25-year-old woman on Cohen Place about 5.30am on 9 February.
He then allegedly stole her handbag containing a wallet, bank cards and phone before fleeing.
The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Investigators yesterday executed warrants at an address on Edwin Court, Warrnambool, where a 25-year-old man was arrested.
The man has since been charged with robbery, sexual assault and multiple counts of obtain property by deception.
He will be remanded to face Warrnambool Magistrates' Court at a later date.
