Police have charged a man after he allegedly deliberately disrupted train services on the Werribee Line.
Transit Safety Division officers have been working with the rail authorities as part of a lengthy investigation into reports a man had caused train services to stop through various means since March.
Among the reported incidents included a man allegedly;
- Running out in front of trains
- Hitting golf balls at trains
- Throwing objects at trains
- Shining lasers at trains
- Walking along the tracks
A 55-year-old man was arrested when investigators executed a search warrant at his Hoppers Crossing residence on Tuesday, 12 August.
As part of the search officers seized golf clubs and three nail guns
The 55-year-old was subsequently charged with a string of offences related to the railway investigation as well as several unrelated incidents.
Charges include three counts of trespassing on Public Transport Victoria property, two counts of damaging trains, two counts of obstructing trains, two counts of threats to inflict serious injury and trespassing on a rail corridor.
He has bailed to face Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 9 September.
