Police charge man over armed robbery - Bass Hill

A man will appear in court today charged over an alleged armed robbery in Sydney's Southwest.

About 1.20am on Saturday 5 February 2022, police were called to a unit on Robertson Road, Bass Hill, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended a short time later and were told a man had entered the unit, before allegedly threatening the occupant – a 38-year-old man– with a pair of scissors and demanding his wallet.

The occupant sustained a small cut to his arm after an altercation inside the unit.

The man fled the scene a short time later with his wallet.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attached to Strike Force Hawk, arrested a 27-year-old man on Blaxcell Street, Granville about 7.50pm yesterday (Sunday 13 March 2022).

He was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and an outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Monday 14 March 2022).
