Police charge man over armed robbery - Lavington

A man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in a suburb of Albury at the weekend.

About 4.40am on Saturday (12 June 2021), a man entered a service station on Travelstop Way, Lavington, allegedly threatening the attendant with a firearm and demanding money.

The man stole cash and cigarettes, before leaving the scene on a black motorcycle.

No shots were fired, and no one was physically injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and a crime scene was established.

Following extensive inquiries, a 24-year-old man who was extradited to NSW yesterday (Wednesday 16 June 2021) was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, and tamper with evidence.

He was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court today (Thursday 17 June 2021).
