Police charge man over assault - Daceyville

A man will face court today charged over an alleged assault in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs overnight.

About 10.50pm (Saturday 17 October 2020), emergency services were called to General Bridges Crescent, Daceyville, following reports a man had been assaulted.

Police arrived to find a 42-year-old man near the intersection of Bunnerong Road suffering a head injury.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Following a search of the area, a 37-year-old man was found nearby and arrested about 11.50pm.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).

The Waverley man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 18 October 2020).

The men are known to each other.

Inquiries are continuing.
