Police charge man over domestic-related incident at Botany

A man has been charged following an alleged domestic-related incident at Botany yesterday.

Just before 6pm on Friday (27 August 2021), police were called to a unit at Rancom Street, Botany, following reports of a domestic-related incident between a man and woman – who are known to each other.

Officers were told that a 32-year-old man physically assaulted a 33-year-old woman in the carpark of a unit complex, grabbing her hair and pushing her to the ground.

The pair then returned to their unit, where the man smashed a cabinet and threw several kitchen items to the ground.

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad and the Dog Unit, attended and arrested the man.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with destroy or damage property, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm and common assault.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 28 August 2021).

The woman did not require medical treatment.
