Police charge man over domestic-related assault at Aberdeen

A man will appear in court charged following a domestic-related assault in the upper Hunter yesterday.

About 5.30pm (Thursday 9 July 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Macqueen Street, Aberdeen, after reports of a domestic-related assault.

It's alleged a man attended the home before damaging the front door and assaulting a 42-year-old woman.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old man, known to the woman, was arrested nearby. He was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital for treatment of superficial lacerations.

Upon his release from hospital, the man was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV), destroy or damage property (DV), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

The Scone man was refused bail to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court today (Friday 10 July 2020).
