A man has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic violence offences in the Lake Macquarie Area.
About 11.30pm on Thursday 24 April 2025, the man allegedly assaulted and intimidated a 31-year-old woman known to him at a home in Warners Bay.
About 9am the following day (Friday 25 April 2025), the man allegedly threatened the woman with a knife.
Over the coming days, the man allegedly sent harassing text messages to the woman.
On Sunday 27 April 2025, police attached to Lake Macquarie Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate the man.
Following extensive inquiries, officers from the Hunter High Risk Domestic Violence Offender Team located and arrested the 30-year-old man at Warners Bay earlier today (Tuesday 6 May 2025).
He was taken to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), armed with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), common assault (DV), and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.
He was refused bail to appear before Belmont Local Court today (Tuesday 6 May 2025).
