Police charge man over fatal motorcycle crash - Mid North Coast

A man will face court in October after being charged over a fatal motorcycle crash on the state's Mid North Coast earlier this year.

About 2.40pm on Sunday 6 June 2021, emergency services were called to King Creek Road at King Creek – about 5km east of Wauchope – after a motorcycle and Holden Statesman sedan collided.

The rider – a 51-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The Holden driver – a 74-year-old man – was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and mandatory testing.

Following inquiries, the older man attended Port Macquarie Police Station yesterday (Monday 30 August 2021), where he was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death-drive under influence, negligent driving occasioning death, drive with low-range PCA and not give way to vehicle.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 27 October 2021.
