Police charge man over Hadspen incident

A 33-year-old Launceston man has been charged over an isolated incident at Hadspen overnight.

Police were called to Rutherglen Road about 6.45pm following reports of a concern for welfare of a man walking on the road.

Police located the man inside a private residence a short time later.

Officers communicated with him for several hours before he was safely taken into custody.

There was nobody else inside the home during the incident, and there was no threat to the wider community.

The man was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for assessment.

Police charged the man this afternoon with Make false threat of danger, resist police, and breach of bail.

He has been remanded to appear in court later this afternoon.
