Police charge man over indecent assault on bus - Operation Artemis

A man will face court today charged following an appeal over the alleged indecent assault of a woman on a bus in Sydney's west in March.

About 1.50am on Sunday 3 March 2019, an 18-year-old woman was allegedly indecently assaulted by a man while travelling on a bus travelling from Parramatta to Baulkham Hills.

Officers from Police Transport Command commenced an investigation, and this week released images of a man who was wanted to assist with inquiries.

About 3.15pm yesterday (Thursday 25 July 2019), a 31-year-old man attended Day Street Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with sexually touch another person without consent.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Friday 26 July 2019).

Checks also revealed the man, a Sri Lankan National, is residing in Australia unlawfully.

Operation Artemis is an ongoing operation targeting sexual offences on the public transport network.
