A 30-year-old Launceston man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, aggravated burglary and assault following an incident at a home in Karoola on Sunday, 15 August.
Police will allege two men forced entry to the residence about 5:30 am, assaulting two occupants before stealing a small amount of cash.
One of the occupants, a 64-year-old man, sustained a significant head injury in the incident. A 28-year-old woman was also assaulted but did not require medical treatment.
Police are still investigating the whereabouts of the second offender. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 44 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
The charged man is due to appear in court in Launceston at 2:15 pm today.
