Police charge man over Kurralta Park shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at Kurralta Park last week.

Just after 2.30am, Sunday 22 January, patrols were called to a unit complex on Warwick Avenue, Kurralta Park after a man was shot in the abdomen.

The 19-year-old Kurralta Park man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The suspects fled the scene, possibly in a white Toyota sedan.

This afternoon, Wednesday 1 February, Southern District CIB detectives, with the assistance of STAR Operations, arrested a 26-year-old man at a Prospect address.

He was charged with attempted murder, aggravated robbery, firearms offences, trafficking in a controlled drug and trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

The drug charges relate to drugs allegedly found in the man's possession at the time of his arrest.

Southern District CIB detectives also arrested a 22-year-old woman at the same location. She was charged with firearms offences, trafficking in a controlled drug and trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

The pair were refused police bail and are expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday 2 February.

Police again wish to reassure the community that the shooting was not a random incident.
