Police charge man over multiple business break insin Brisbane and Moreton

Detectives have charged a man after a number of property offences allegedly targeting cafes and takeaway businesses between February and March across Brisbane's north.

Investigators from the Gateway Property Crime Team and North Brisbane Criminal Investigation Branch (North) commenced Operation Tango Jumpstreet in response to more than 20 linked enter premises and property crime related incidents around North Lakes, Kallangur, Nundah, Boondall, Aspley, Strathpine, Gatton, Newport and Warner.

Significant damage was caused to the pizza takeaway businesses and cafes with cash drawers, safes and ATMs allegedly targeted in the break ins across Brisbane's north and Moreton.

Detectives executed a search warrant yesterday on a Kallangur address where a number of items alleged to have been used during the offences were seized.

An amount of property including tools was also recovered from and break and enter at New Port.

A 29-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with 30 offences and had the matters heard in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today. He has been remanded in custody to reappear on April 6.

Investigations continue and further charges are likely.
