Police charge man over murder of Nicole Cartwright

Detectives have charged a man over the alleged murder of Nicole Cartwright, whose body was located at Hunters Hill nearly two years ago.

About 7.30am on Wednesday 3 October 2018, police were called to Pittwater Road, Hunters Hill, after the body of a woman was found wrapped in a bed sheet by a council worker in Buffalo Creek Reserve.

The woman was identified as 32-year-old Nicole Cartwright.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, together with officers from Ryde and Burwood Police Area Commands, established Strike Force Winkurra to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force Winkurra investigators arrested a 51-year-old man at Parramatta Police Station about 12.45pm today (Wednesday 27 May 2020).

The man has since been charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 28 May 2020).
