Police charge man over Northern crime series

A man has been charged in relation to a series of burglaries and motor vehicle stealings committed throughout Western Junction and the West Tamar area last month.

Police will allege that the 28-year-old Ravenswood man stole various property including power tools to an approximate value of $80,000 during his crime spree. The man has been charged with 11 counts of burglary, 9 counts of stealing and 3 counts of motor vehicle stealing.

During the investigation, police conducted multiple searches and recovered a large quantity of stolen power tools, most of which have now been returned to the owners.

The man was detained in custody and will appear in an after-hours court tonight.
