Police Charge Man Over Sextortion - Central Coast

A Central Coast man will face court charged following an investigation into the alleged sextortion of three women online.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District commenced an investigation earlier this month following a referral from Victoria Police.

Detectives were told that a man allegedly threatened to post AI-manipulated intimate images online of the three women, all aged in their 20s, and made demands for further intimate images.

Following extensive inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at an Ettalong Beach home this morning (Wednesday 28 May 2025).

During the search, police allegedly located and seized several electronic devices which will undergo further examination.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with 13 offences:

  • Demand with menaces intend obtain gain/cause loss (three counts)
  • Threaten to distribute intimate image without consent (three counts),
  • Use service to send sexual material reckless as to consent (three counts),
  • Use carriage service to menace/harass/offend (three counts), and
  • Incite other to do sexual act with them without consent.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Gosford Local Court on Wednesday 4 June 2025.
