Police charge man over sexual act - Eastgardens

A man will face court today charged after allegedly committing a sexual act in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs yesterday.

Police were contacted after a man was witnessed allegedly committing a sexual act in the food court of a shopping centre at Eastgardens about 12.40pm (Friday 31 January 2020).

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 52-year-old man at a Pagewood home just after 3pm.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the home, seizing items relevant to the investigation.

The man was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with three counts of carry out sexual act with another without consent and aggravated sexual act with another without consent.

Police will allege in court that the man was seated near teenage girls in the public food court area while he committed the sexual acts on Monday (27 January) and Friday (31 January).

The man has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 1 February 2020).
