A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Sydney's eastern suburbs last weekend.
Police commenced an investigation last Sunday (30 May 2021), after reports a woman had allegedly been sexually assaulted in a carpark on Cross Street, Double Bay.
Following inquiries, detectives and Proactive Crime Team officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended an apartment on Victoria Road at Parramatta, about 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 June 2021).
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Parramatta Police Station. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault – deprive liberty.
He was refused bail and will appear today (Thursday 3 June 2021) at Parramatta Local Court.
