Police charge man over sexual touching in Sydney

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual touching of a woman at a hostel in Sydney's CBD last month.

Police will allege on Saturday 14 September 2019, a woman staying at a hostel on Rawson Street, Sydney, was sexually touched by a man who was also staying at the hostel at the time.

The incident was reported to officers from Sydney City Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 43-year-old man was apprehended by Australian Border Force officers at Sydney International Airport yesterday (Sunday 13 October 2019) while attempting to board a flight.

Detectives attended and arrested the man, who was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with sexually touch another person without consent.

He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today (Monday 14 October 2019).
