Police charge man over sexual touching of young girl - North West Metropolitan

A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual touching of a young girl in Sydney's north west last year.

On Friday 1 January 2021, police received reports that a six-year-old girl had been sexually touched by a man known to her.

The matter was referred to detectives at the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad who commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, a 73-year-old man was arrested by investigators at The Hills Police Station just before 11am on Wednesday 24 February 2021.

He was charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years of age.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually touched the girl on two occasions in December 2020.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 2 March 2021).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
