Police charge man over stabbing at Oberon

A man has been charged over a stabbing in the Central Tablelands region.

About 9pm yesterday (Sunday 23 June 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Duckmaloi Road, Oberon, after reports a man had been stabbed during a domestic-related incident.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District were told the two men, aged 41 and 45, became involved in a physical altercation, where the younger man sustained a stab wound to his abdomen.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Orange Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The older man was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding (DV)-T1, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x2).

He was bail refused and will appear at Bathurst Local Court today (Monday 24 June 2019).
