Police charge man over stabbing - Inner West

A man has been charged after a man was stabbed during a domestic incident in Sydney's inner west overnight.

About 7.50pm (Tuesday 2 June 2020), a man attended a unit on Great North Road, Abbotsford, and became involved in physical altercation with the male occupant, allegedly stabbing him with a kitchen knife.

Emergency services attended, with NSW Ambulance paramedics treating a 59-year-old man for stab wounds to his left shoulder.

He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command arrested a 23-year-old man at the scene, before taking him to Burwood Police Station.

He was charged with reckless wounding (DV) and served with an apprehended domestic violence order.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 30 July 2020.

Upon searching the scene, police seized a knife, mobile phones, cash, clothing and a substance believed to be cannabis.

The two men are known to each other.
