Police charge man over Terang attempted aggravated burglary

Detectives from Portland Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man this morning for an attempted aggravated burglary in Terang earlier this week.

It is alleged that a man attempted to commit an aggravated burglary at a supermarket on High Street, Terang on 5 February, threatening a victim with a weapon before demanding money.

The victim fought off the man before the man fled empty handed.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

Police executed a search warrant on a Pile Court, Portland address and arrested a 23-year-old Portland man for an attempted aggravated burglary, a police pursuit and numerous traffic offences.

The man is currently in custody and assisting investigators with their enquiries.
