Police charge man over theft of women's underwear during break-in - Mascot

A man will appear in court today charged over stealing women's underwear from a hotel room in Sydney's south earlier this year.

In October 2019, officers from South Sydney Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of a theft at a hotel in Mascot.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Sutherland Street, Rosebery, just before 7am on Wednesday 6 November 2019.

During the search, police located more than 1000 pairs of women's underwear, bras, and swimwear.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with break and enter house steal value (less than $60,000).

Police will allege in court that the man stole a bag of women's underwear from a room at a hotel at Mascot, on Friday 25 October 2019.

The Rosebery man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Monday 2 December 2019).
