Police charge man over Wetherill Park shooting

A man has been charged following investigations into an alleged shooting in Wetherill Park yesterday.

About 2am on Friday 13 September 2019, police were called to a commercial property on Hargreaves Place, Wetherill Park following reports a shot was fired at the premises.

Inquiries revealed a single round was fired into the door of the property.

There were no injuries as a result of the shooting.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced investigations and arrested a man at Kemps Creek yesterday.

The 28-year-old man was charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place and fail to leave premises when required.

He was bail refused to appear before Parramatta Local Court today Saturday 14 September 2019.
