Police charge man with domestic violence offences - Central West

A man will appear in court tomorrow facing a string of domestic-related charges.

On Tuesday 28 January 2020, officers from Central West Police District attended a home on Matthews Avenue, Orange, following reports of a domestic-related incident.

On arrival, police allegedly found a 29-year-old woman suffering serious injuries, including ligature marks around her neck and burns to her back.

The woman was taken to Orange Base Hospital, where she was admitted to Intensive Care.

A 24-year-old man was spoken to at the scene and inquiries commenced.

Following investigations, a warrant was applied for and granted for the arrest of the 24-year-old man, who was allegedly avoiding police.

About 3pm today (Monday 17 February 2020), officers arrested the 24-year-old at a home on Bundarra Crescent, Orange.

He was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding cause actual bodily harm (x3), common assault (x3), attempt stalk/intimidate, intentionally choke person with recklessness.

He was refused bail to appear in Orange Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 18 February 2020).
