Police charge man with drug and driving offences at Corowa

A man will face court next month after being charged at a border checkpoint in the state's south last night.

About 6.30pm (Friday 14 August 2020), police were performing border checkpoint duties on Federation Way, Corowa, when they stopped a 40-year-old male driver attempting to enter New South Wales.

After carrying out the relevant permit checks, a vehicle check revealed the car was unregistered; when the man was searched police seized a bag alleged to contain Ice.

The man was taken to Corowa Police Station and charged with prosses prohibited drug and was issued with a number of traffic infringements notices.

He was issued a field court attendance notice to appear at Corowa Local Court on Wednesday 23 September 2020.
