Police charge man with drug offences - New England PD

A man will face court today after cannabis worth almost $180,000 was seized at a property in the state's Northern Tablelands yesterday.

About 11am Wednesday (15 April 2020), officers attached to New England Target Action Group attended a home on Baldersleigh Road, Guyra, to speak with a man believed to reside at the location.

During a search of the home officers located and seized 27.3kg cannabis, along with two vials of cannabis oil.

The cannabis has an estimated potential street value of $180,000.

Following further inquiries, about 10.40am today (Thursday 16 April 2020), officers arrested a 53-year-old man at Armidale Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug > commercial quantity and cultivate prohibited plant.

The man was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Thursday 16 April 2020).
