Police charge man with drug supply as part of Strike Force Yuppara at Dapto

A 34-year-old Dapto man has been charged, as part of Strike Force Yuppara, for drug supply in Sydney's south today.

Strike Force Yuppara was established by detectives from Wollongong Police District to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs, including cocaine and MDMA, in the Illawarra region.

On Friday 16 August 2019, Strike Force Yuppara executed a criminal organisation warrant an at address in Dapto.

During the search of the house a number of items were taken into evidence including an air pistol, an expandable baton and knuckle dusters.

The resident of the house was overseas when the search was conducted but arrested on his return into the country today (Friday 11 October 2019).

He was charged with participating in a criminal group, knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing prohibited weapons and possession of police uniform by others.

The man was refused bail and appeared in front of Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 11 October 2019).

Investigations by Wollongong detectives and Strike Force Yuppara are continuing.
