A man has been charged with firearm offences in the Illawarra.

About 9.50am on Thursday 16 July 2026, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended a home in Hoskins Ave, Warrawong, for the purpose of Firearms Prohibition Order and Weapon Prohibition Order search.

Officers conducted the search and allegedly seized five glock replica gel blaster pistols, 55 shot gun cartridges, 18 gel blaster magazines, rifle magazine and approximately 10,000 gel blaster rounds.

A 53-year-old man at the home was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with eight offences; five counts of possess unauthorised pistol, possess ammunition without holding license/permit/authority and acquire firearm part without authority to do so.

He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 on Friday 17 July 2026, where he was granted conditional bail to appear in Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 5 August 2026.
