Police Charge Man With Firearm Offences Near Cowra

A man has been charged with alleged firearm offences in the state's central west this week.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Bowen Street, Woodstock, about 1.30pm on Wednesday 18 March 2026, where they arrested a 58-year-old man.

During the search, police allegedly located three unregistered rifles, an amount of ammunition, and fireworks.

The man was taken to Cowra Police Station where he was charged with:

· Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority,

· Three counts of possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm,

· Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm, and

· Possess unauthorised firearm.

He was granted conditional bail to face Cowra Local Court on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
