Police charge man with High Range Drink Driving at South Burnie

A 59-year-old Burnie man who recorded a breath alcohol reading of .281 has been charged and disqualified from driving for 2 years after a crash in South Burnie this morning.

Police were called to a single vehicle crash on Menai Street about 8:50am. On arrival they found a silver Ford Escape which had struck a small retaining wall.

There were no injuries as a result of the crash.

Police implore all drivers to be aware of the dangers of drink driving - which is one of the fatal five contributing factors to fatal and serious injury crashes on our roads.
