Police charge man with high range drink driving

A 58 year old Sandy Bay man has been charged with high range drink driving and had his vehicle seized following a crash yesterday.

Approximately 4:55pm yesterday, police intercepted the man who had got his vehicle stuck in a ditch on Adventure Bay Road, Adventure Bay.

The man retuned a breath alcohol reading of 0.294.

The man was subsequently charged with exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit, driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and other traffic related offences.

It was the second time in a week that the man was charged with high range drink driving offences.

He was detained and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at 11.15am today.

Police remind motorists to abide by the signed speed limits, drive to the weather conditions at all times and to not drink and drive.
