Police charge man with high range PCA after crash - Dulwich Hill

A man has allegedly been caught driving more than four times the legal limit after crasing in Dulwich Hill today.

Police were told about 12.50pm (Friday 4 February 2022), a Toyota Corolla – driven by a 65-year-old man – crashed into three parked vehicles in a carpark on Loftus Street.

A member of the public approached the Corolla, removing the keys from the ignition and contacted police.

Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command attended, along with Fire and Rescue NSW, and the man was subjected to a roadside breath test that returned a positive result.

The man was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.236.

He was charged with negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm) and drive with high range PCA.

The Marrickville man was granted conditional bail to appear in Newtown Local Court on Monday 21 February 2022.

His licence was suspended.
