Police charge man with high-range PCA after crash - Chifley

A man will face court charged with high-range drink driving after a crash in the state's Central West yesterday.

About 6.30pm (Tuesday 14 July 2020), officers attached to Chifley Police District attended Northlogan Road, Billimari, approximately 24km north of Cowra, following reports of a crash.

Police spoke with the driver, a 21-year-old man, who said he had bogged his vehicle after conducting a u-turn. He was subjected to a roadside breath test returning a positive result.

The man was arrested and taken to Cowra Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.161.

He was charged with high-range PCA, driver never licensed, use unregistered Class A motor vehicle on road and use uninsured motor vehicle.

The man was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday 9 September 2020.
