Police charge man with mid-range PCA at Albury

A man has been charged with mid-range drink driving on the New South Wales -Victorian border.

About 3.20pm yesterday (Thursday 16 July 2020), a 39-year-old man was driving towards a border check point when he was stopped by police on Wodonga Place, Albury, for a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station where he was subjected to a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.084.

The man and his female passenger were both in possession of vaild Covid-19 NSW border entry permits. The Victorian driver told police he was travelling interstate for a medical appointment.

The man's licence was suspended and he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with mid-range PCA.

He is due to appear at Albury Local Court on Monday 10 August 2020.
