A man will face court today charged over the death of a man in the state's central west earlier this year.
About 10.15pm on Friday 25 July 2025, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home on Walker Crescent, Wellington, due to concerns for welfare for the resident.
Officers entered the home where the body of a 64-year-old man was located.
Detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Rudall.
Following inquiries, about 10.45am yesterday (Tuesday 21 October 2025) detectives arrested a 33-year-old man at a correctional facility in Wellington and he was charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division - Court 4 today (Wednesday 22 October 2025).
