Police charge man with murder - Bronte

A man has been charged with murder after a woman died following an alleged domestic violence-related incident in Bronte last night.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were called to a house on Bronte Road, Bronte, about 6pm (Thursday 6 October 2022), following a concern for welfare report.

Police arrived to find a 74-year-old woman outside the home suffering critical injuries.

Officers rendered assistance to the woman before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

The woman was taken to St Vincent's Hospital; however, she died a short time later.

A crime scene was established and is being examined by specialist officers.

A 74-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Waverley Police Station, where he was charged with one count of murder.

He was refused bail and will appear at Waverley Local Court today (Friday 7 October 2022).
