Police Charge Man With Murder, Greenbank

Logan detectives have today charged a man with murder following the death of a 3-week-old boy on 22 July 2024.

On 18 July 2024, the child was presented to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition, with no obvious injuries.

The child passed away in hospital four days later, on 22 July 2024.

Detectives from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit and Child Trauma Unit launched Operation Whiskey Nell in an effort to determine the cause of the child's death.

Detectives undertook an extensive and protracted investigation and recently received results from comprehensive medical examinations, which indicate the child sustained internal injuries.

Police will allege that the child received these injuries at a Rosemary Street address at Greenbank.

Subsequently, detectives arrested a man at Cleveland this morning, who was known to the child.

The 25-year-old Cleveland man has now been charged with one count of murder.

He is scheduled to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, 2 February 2026.

Investigations continue.
