Police charge man with supplying drugs, Southport

Police have charged a man after allegedly uncovering a significant quantity of dangerous drugs at a Southport home on Friday.

Around 2pm, detectives from the Gold Coast CIB executed a search warrant at a Marine Parade address, where they allegedly located methylamphetamine (Ice) valued around $7,500, and other drug paraphernalia.

A 43-year-old Mermaid Waters man has been charged with one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and possessing a drug utensil.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on March 28.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from the Gold Coast CIB said police will continuing to remove dangerous drugs from Gold Coast streets.

"We will continue to be unrelenting in our efforts to target the supply of dangerous drugs and will take action anywhere at anytime," Detective Inspector Smith said.

Investigations continue, and further arrests are expected.
