Police charge men after home invasion at Dapto

Two men will face court today following a home invasion in the Lake Illawarra region earlier this week.

About 9.20pm (Tuesday 25 April 2020), police were called to Burke Road, Dapto, following reports two men had forced entry into a unit.

The men alleged stabbed a 28-year-old man and punched a 41-year-old man before stealing a car from the location.

The younger man suffered a minor stab wound to his hand and leg and was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital.

The older man suffered a minor face injury.

About 8.15am yesterday (Wednesday 26th August 2020), police attended a home on Collins Avenue, Lurnea where they arrested a 26-year year old man.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-inflict grievous bodily harm, steal motor vehicle and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.

At about 3pm that afternoon, a second man – aged 23, was also arrested at Wollongong Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-inflict grievous bodily harm, common assault and steal motor vehicle.

The first man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 27 August 2020).

The second man was also refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Thursday 27 August 2020).
