Police charge OMCG President, Kelvin Grove

Detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group (Taskforce Maxima) have this morning charged a 34-year-old man with drug and property offences, Queensland Police say.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a Kelvin Grove address early this morning. During the search, police located a modified shotgun, drugs and property stolen during break and enter offences, including war medals. .

A 34-year-old man and President of the La Familia OMCG was charged with fifteen offences and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Detectives also arrested a 23- year-old woman in relation to a warrant for failing to appear in court.

The arrests are part of the continued efforts of the Organised Criminal Gangs Group targeting possession and supply of dangerous drugs and firearms in Queensland by organised crime syndicates.

"The arrests highlight the commitment of the Group and the Queensland Police Service to target new and emerging crime groups in the continued fight against drug supply and the use of illegal firearms in our communities.

"The Organised Crime Gangs Group and the Queensland Police Service will continue to target organised crime figures in order to stop crime and make the community safer for all Queenslanders," Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar of the State Crime Command Organised Crime Gangs Group said
