Police charge pair after Greensborough robbery

Detectives from Banyule Crime Investigation Unit have charged two males in relation to an alleged robbery that occurred in Greensborough yesterday afternoon.

An 18-year-old Epping man along with a 15-year-old boy from Thomastown were each charged with one count of robbery following the incident that occurred at a shopping centre on Main Street about 3.30pm.

The Epping man was remanded and will appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court today.

The Thomastown teen was bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.

The charges come after two teenage boys were sitting inside the food court and were approached by the pair who allegedly threatened one of the boys, a 15-year-old from Doreen.

It is further alleged the victim was pushed before his phone was stolen from him.

The males were arrested a short time later and the victim's phone was recovered nearby and returned to him.

The victim was not physically injured.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
