Police charge teen after Harkaway aggravated burglary

Detectives from Casey Crime Investigation Unit have charged a 16-year-old following an alleged aggravated burglary in Harkaway this morning.

The Monbulk teen has been charged with:

• Aggravated burglary;

• Theft of motor vehicle (x2);

• Dangerous driving whilst being pursued;

• Reckless conduct endangering serious injury; and

• Commit indictable offence whilst on bail

He appeared at children's court today and was further remanded to appear at another date.

The charges follow the alleged aggravated burglary that occurred at a property on Harkaway Road about 3am.

Two adults and three children who were home at the time, were not disturbed during the incident.

A Range Rover and Audi were stolen from the property were both recovered by police shortly after the incident.

They will be forensically examined as part of the investigation.

The driver of the Range Rover fled on foot and remains outstanding.
