Police Charge Teens After Armed Robbery At Orange

Two teenage boys have been charged following an alleged armed robbery in the state's west.

Officers attached to Central West Police District were called to a supermarket on Anson Street, Orange, responding to reports of an armed robbery about 8.15pm last Saturday (28 February 2026).

Police were told a 57-year-old woman was walking towards the supermarket when she was approached by two youths who allegedly threatened her with a knife before they stole her car keys and left in her white hatchback.

A short time later, the hatchback and another vehicle collided and the youths left the scene on foot.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation commenced into the incident.

The woman was not injured.

Following extensive inquiries, police executed search warrants at a home in Orange about 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 March 2026), where two boys - aged 15 and 12 - were arrested. Items were seized to be forensically examined

They were taken to Orange Police Station where they were charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

They were refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Wednesday 4 March 2026).
